It’s the little things…

IMG_9858 IMG_9861Thursday started out like any other day- Students recording data and observations into their weather journals, reading, writing and then we were treated to a class favorite…Scooby Snacks! Originally brought in to celebrate Joaquin’s birthday, these little snacks quickly became the focus of the morning. Students wanted to know when we were going to eat them, how many and who gets to pass them out? It was the perfect day for recess and some playground snacking!

The guiding questions for our weather unit are:

– How does daily weather affect us?

-What role does the sun play in creating weather?

-What kinds of detrimental weather could occur where I live?

The students have been exploring these questions in their daily literacy centers, FOSS science kits and daily observations and discussions.
