Science Project Updates

The students have formed groups and chosen an experiment to conduct in class. I have attached a description of their experiment and a materials list. Please choose which materials you can provide. I will then send another notice home with the item(s) that are required of your child to bring in next week. I would like to thank the parents who have provided some three panel boards for the science presentations. All of the experiments begin with a question that the students have formed. The experiments were chosen with simplicity and time constraints in mind. Your child is also being introduced to the scientific method and will revisit these skills throughout the rest of the semester. More information can be found at SARSEF’s website:

The students are gradually completing their Winter Break digital stories. They are being uploaded weekly. Many students are writing fictional stories. This allowing them to explore story elements in their pre-writing outlines. Their character, plot and problem solving narratives are becoming increasingly sophisticated and extremely entertaining.

Library time is every Tuesday. Please have your child bring their books back on Tuesday, if they wish to check out new books.

Digital Storytelling: I am continuing to upload your child’s stories and pictures to my blog and YouTube channel weekly. If you do not want your child’s name or work listed please notify me. This also applies to my webpage postings which include photos of the class. Please subscribe to my YouTube playlist so you can get emails when I upload new movies.

Homework: Home work for this week consists of math review and to write about something that happened, or that they did this week in class. We will continue to write with an audience in mind for the remainder of the semester.
