I would like to apologize for not being able to stay for Literacy Night. I was not able to stay to due to health concerns. I enjoyed reading the comments left by you. We spent the next day writing more comments and it gave me the opportunity to read them. This class has become a cadre of phenomenal writers. They have created over 308 digital stories this year! I will continue to try to upload them all. I will also send them home on DVD along with a class slideshow at the end of the year.

We had a field trip to the Art Museum today. It was a nice walk to the museum. I want to thank my chaperones and the students for wonder behavior and insightful questions and comment in the museum.

I would like to ask for classroom donations of dry erase markers, colored pencils and snacks. We have been fortunate to have a steady stream of these supplies this year. They are what we use the most. Thank you so much for donating these items. The students and I are greatly appreciative of your generosity!

Library time is every Friday. Please have your child bring their books back on Tuesday, if they wish to check out new books.

Digital Storytelling: I am continuing to upload your child’s stories and pictures to my blog and YouTube channel weekly. If you do not want your child’s name or work listed please notify me. This also applies to my webpage postings which include photos of the class. Please subscribe to my YouTube playlist so you can get emails when I upload new movies.

Homework: The home work this week is non-fiction reading and answering questions based on the reading. The math is a combination of time and timeline problems and working with fractions and money. Homework every night is reading with your child and discussing the story and developing their academic language. In addition to reading, any activity that engages your child in language development is worthwhile.
